Bill Deiss
Pastor, Church council recording secretary, Finance committee, nominating committee.
I came from a traditional Southern Baptist background and began my walk of Faith in Christ at a young age. I have been Assembly of God, Pentecostal, and now Methodist. I was called to preach late in life and answered the calling . I have served God as a minister of the Gospel for almost 10 years. It has been my honor to have been serving at Parker Chapel Methodist for 8 years as a part time local pastor. I also own my own business at Southeastern Musical Services in Huntsville Al, where I repair, restore and custom build brass and woodwind musical instruments. I am married to my wonderful wife and best friend, Kelly Deiss. Together we have 5 grown children and two grandchildren. My hobbies include local musician, riding motorcycles and hunting.

John Gorman
Council Chairperson, Finance committee, Media, Human resources, mens Bible study leader.
Raised Roman Catholic in Upstate New York, I remained a catholic until meeting my wife, Debra. Debra influenced my path to deeper Christianity through study of the Bible. We have belonged to several church denominations over the past 20 years as a result of two moves across the country. I arrived at Parker Chapel several years ago. As my journey continues, I am more impressed by what happens inside church doors than the name over the door. Furthermore, how is God’s word lived outside those doors? I am a work in progress, but my aim is to love God and love others. After retiring from a career in manufacturing leadership, I keep busy with church activities, travel, reading, and DIY projects.

Randy Martin
Trustee Chairperson, Church Council, Media, Sunday school leader.
I was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, and attended Holmes Street United Methodist Church there. About 40 years ago I moved my membership to Parker Chapel, my mother's church as a child and young adult. I'm a retired Army civilian engineer, as well as a retired Alabama National Guardsman. I enjoy working on church projects, and socializing, and I also enjoy being a member of a local Corvette club and participating in autocross and high-performance track days.

Debra Gorman
Human Resources chairperson, Nominating committee, decorating committee, Communications/website, blog/reflections, Church council.
I have been a Christ follower for 43 years, but I’m still discovering the love and faithfulness of our God. I’m a retired registered nurse and have also ministered as a funeral officiant and Home Funeral Guide. I write for a magazine and a blog. I love to cook, decorate, and host people in our home. Over the years I have served the church in various ways: librarian, drama director, search committee, Bible study leader, production planner/designer, and videographer. This is my first time serving on the church council.

Wayne Wilcoxson
Church council, Finance Chairperson
My family moved from Huntsville to the Madison area in 1985 and soon discovered the casual family environment of Parker Chapel. It was a good fit. As a member here for over 35 years I have served in several capacities alongside fellow Christians in service to our church and community.

Nancy Martin
Church council, Treasurer, Women’s Bible study leader, Benevolence hostess, Decorating committee.
I literally started in the Methodist Church from the time I was born. I joined when I was around 9. It seems I have a tendency to do things later in life. I went to college at 30 and got re-baptized at 50. I have worked in finance environments all of my professional career and was very honored when I became treasurer for Parker Chapel. I enjoy kayaking and working outdoors, especially with my tractor!

Sheri Meyer
Family Ministry Chairperson, Church Council, Greeter, Decorating Committee.
I was raised in Iowa & attended a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church with my family. I married my husband Tim & we joined a Methodist church. After a 10-year stay in Texas, we ended up in Madison Alabama where we found Parker Chapel. We love this church & it feels like home. We’ve been attending here since 2019. I’ve taught Sunday School since I was a teenager & like being active in my church. We have two grown children & one grandson. I’m a Territory Supervisor for Hallmark Cards. We spend our spare time traveling to see our family in Iowa & Texas.
